Dodge Challenger is one of the Dodge’s famous releases since the 1960. With its famous Front engine-Rear drive layout, Dodge Challenger is a legendary car by Dodge and Chrysler. Welcoming its 100th anniversary in 2014, Dodge will redesign some of its cars. And the rumored 2016 Dodge Challenger SRT8 will bring the classic look with a more powerful engine. Dodge is not planning to change the facade of next Dodge Challenger as it’s one of the features that the buyer loves.
Pure Muscle Car to a SRT
Since 2011, Dodge Challenger changed slowly from a pure muscle car to a SRT or Street and Racing Technology car. This technology will also be brought in 2016 Dodger Challenger SRT. The suspension and interior will be corrected with minor change on the exterior. Eight speed automatics in the engines with 6.2 liters’ Supercharged Hemi can be expected form the future Dodge Challenger.
Dodge planned the 2016 Dodge Challenger SRT8 to have a shorter body and heavier wheels but this might just a speculation. The back side looks will move closer to Dodger Dart or Charger. On the dashboard technology, the newest Dodge Challenger will be completed with Uconnect2 and 8.4 inch touch screen dashboard system that supports forward sensors, adaptive cruise, rear camera and protection for crash prediction. It might be equipped with technology of parking assistance, too.
2016 Dodge Challenger SRT8 Release Date
The front fascia also will be changed due to a more powerful engine so an additional cooling system should be added. On the same class, Dodge Challenger will be competing with Shelby GT500 and new Camaro. Although it is almost certain that 2016 Dodge Challenger SRT8 will be released around the year 2015 or 2016, Dodge is still putting the 6.2 Hemi to test if it ready for the road rides. Marchionne from Dodge has confirmed that Dodge Challenger will be up to two more models for the next two year.
